GSU Fall 2012

Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, and the advice about when to expect letters, kyuu. Honestly, I've been telling myself not to get too stressed about it, but folks keep asking me if I've heard anything yet...and that gets me all anxious and annoyed again.

I'm more worried about surviving the ACE program, passing the NCLEX, and finding a JOB after I graduate! Getting in is the (relatively) easy part, IMO.

OMG. I know what you mean! People kept asking me about it too, and it made me more anxious. I think if it wasn't for people keep asking, i think the anxiety would be WAAAAAY less. For me, I finally blew up that day and was ranting about people asking me to my friend during lunch and that later afternoon, i got a call from my dad telling me I got my letter. lol. was WAY too happy.

Brazilian nurse, i'm surprised you haven't gotten your letter... with 4.0 program GPA and 83.3 TEAS!

My TEAS score is just one point higher... and your GPA is a little higher than mine... so I find it difficult to believe that you haven't gotten yours yet. Just hang in there, it's probably on its way.

Like it was mentioned before, I don't know if turning the application early made any difference, but I turned my application a week before the deadline. :)

As for troop, hang in there! your TEAS score is relatively high... it MUST count for something... right? :)

The only think I can think of is my TEAS science score... I was just checking and these are my grades:

Science Adjusted Individual Score: 79.2%

Human Body Science: 63.6%

Life Science: 86.7%

Earth and Physical Science: 92.9%

Scientific Reasoning: 87.5%

I can't believe I did so bad on the Human Body Science part.. It may be what's hurting my application?? Anyway.. I thought my GPA would compensate that.. and that they wouldn't really focus on individual parts of the TEAS.. but now I'm not sure... and even though people said that they don't look at GPA other than science and program GPA pre-requisites.. now I'm questioning myself if they are not looking at my grades from my Business degree... anyway... I haven't lost hope yet.. :)

Well... if that's your science portion of TEAS... then you should relax and not worry too much, because I have almost exact science score as you do :)

Earth and Physical Science: 92.9%

Scientific Reasoning: 100.0%

So I'm thinking that they might not look at individual scores. I did pretty bad on human body science... And the only difference between yours and mine is the life science and scientific reasoning portion. :)

I just think yours is either (1) not reviewed yet because it's in the bottom of the pile, or (2) yours might be on its way this weekend (Friday, Saturday, or Monday) :)

Yeah... if your previous degree is not in factor, then you should get in... After all, we have almost exactly same overall and science TEAS score and GPA. I doubt the score for the essay and recommendation letters are any different than mine.

Hey Brazilian Nurse! I know the waiting period is torture, but try not to stress too much! With your gpa and Teas score you will most likely be in the next wave of letters. When I sat down with the advisor last semester (after I was wait listed) she told me a little about how they rate everything, it is only your program gpa and she did say that you get an extra point or two if you scored above 70 or 75 on each section of the teas (sorry I don't remember the exact number). So just hang tight and remember this is a holiday weekend so don't freak out. I know it is easier said than done!
