GSH on Long Island, NY?

Does anyone have any input on Good Samaritan Hospital on Long Island?

I'm a new grad, job searching. Too many decisions/options!

Specializes in Home Health, Primary Care.

I don't know too much about Good Samaritan, but I work for North Shore in Manhasset and if you're interested in Critical Care, they have an excellent Critical Care Fellowship program starting September 26th, where they train you very well to be the best critical care nurse you can be.

Hello,

I know someone in the NICU at Good Sam who is pretty happy. Are you looking for a particular area in nursing? I hear there are good floors and not so good floors there, which is true of any place.

I know some floors there have 13 hour shifts, with every other weekend required. They are part of the Catholic Health Services of LI (other hospitals in this: Mercy, St. Catherine, St. Francis, St. Charles).

I know there are a lot of options out there. When I researched Long Island hospitals, I found a lot of places had similar benefits, starting $$, 12 hr shifts, etc.

Good luck with your search. :)

I'm actually in this program and i was part of the first group to be hired for it......we are now moving into the hospital setting after 3 months of a crash course that packed all of the nursing info we learned in nursing school ...... very intense.....but they have been extremely supportive......if anyone has questions about this I'd be more than happy to answer them.......
