what GS level could I apply for?

If I have...

1) BSN and RN

2) One year of full-time experience, which was

3) in a specialty (ED/level one trauma center - so have ACLS, PALS, CEN, TNCC)

I also have a master's degree in another field (social work), but I doubt that matters.

What GS level might I be eligible for? I am reading and re-reading the rules, and I know it goes to some mysterious committee for individual applicants, but I'm trying to guesstimate which jobs I'd even be considered for at IHS or the VA.

Thanks all!

Look at the job postings, everywhere, but focus on your area. If a job listing for staff nurse specifies BSN and says it is GS 9-12, then you can look at GS 9-12 if you fit the requirements stated in the postings.

The problem is that the postings tend to be vague, especially for IHS. They're often postings for a whole bunch of hospitals or clinics in a given region, not for a specific position on a specific unit. So it might just say there are vacancies at the GS 09 - GS 11 levels, but nothing specific about the requirements apart from that. Given the complexity of the application process, I don't want to waste my time or theirs if I won't meet even the basic requirements.
