i n my country, the Philippines, the number of nurses are constantly growing... the society has been blinded by the job description which everyone tends to anticipate $$$ when you are labeled as a nurse... because of this, more and more nurses and nursing graduates are engaging in non-nursing related jobs... being employed as a call center agent or/and teaching English to Koreans are some of the substitute means for work.
The government is likely acting blind regarding this matter... the BON until now, have not taken any means of action! According to some research, the number of un employed nurses is approximately 325,240 excluding the 210,000 (non-nursing related practitioner) and the 400T non- registered nurses....
A friend of mine was joking around when he found out regarding this matter. He said that we should build an organization on UURN or Un-employed and Un-registered Nurses. But more than a joke, this is a serious matter that we should address...

I thought the Philippines graduated many more nurses than the country needed because many nursing graduates would take jobs overseas.
Is there any country in the world that does not have some Philipino nurses working there?
Maybe there is a change in the number of nurses moving out.

The thing is the Philippine train far too many nurses and now some countries have restrictions for example EU countries have to employ own citizen first then EU before rest of the world. The US has been under retrogression since Oct 06 and over the last couple years not many foreign nurses have moved to the US due to no visas whilst many other countries require nursing experience which in the Philippines has been hard to get due to the over supply of nurses. Very much a catch 22
