Hi,
I am a pregnant woman who is 35 weeks along. I just had my GBS test today. I was wondering how many women tunr to be positive. Without going into nauseating detail, I am allergic to many antibiotics. I am allergic to PCN, Erythomycin, Keflex and Sulfa. Is Kelflex a sulfa drug? I didn't know. I also can't take quinolone antibiotics.
My doctor wants me to take a skin test for my PCN allergy b/c he has doubts I am allergic to it but I don't want to do uneccessary testing at this point. I should wait to get the test results back and then worry about it b/c than I get tested. I would hate to ge tested if I don't have it. On top of this, I have a yeast infection. Would having a yeast infection cause me to have a positive GBS?
I don't know much about this so please bear with me. What antibiotics are left? Cleocin? Pleas help a worried mind.
Thank you,
Jennifer

I got tested for GBS yesterday and I was 34 weeks and 2 days. Was I tested too early cause I read in the link you gave me that testing should be done at 35+ weeks. And if it is done earlier than that then I should assume that I am GBS positive. Just wanted to know your thoughts.
