Hello future RNs!
Wanted to start this forum to keep in touch with my fellow Spring 2020 applicants. I submitted my application a few weeks ago estimating around 86 points. This will be my second time around, first time I was around 68 points. Went back to school to receive my Associate Degree and Language, and increased my TEAS score. Best of luck to all applicants!
I only applied to Grossmont as well! Looking at past forums, ending of September/ beginning October is when emails went out. However, since we all have some stuff in common, is it hard to get in to the daycare at Grossmont? @Dani619 If I do get accepted, I’m worried about childcare for my approximately 3 month old baby about when school starts. I have 2 other little ones that would be in school, but by then I will also have a new born. I’m so used to attending school at night, due to working around my kids and husband schedule. I totally forgot Grossmont offers daycare, and I’m sure it would be so convenient and a huge help on me if I do get into the program. Let me know! Thanks.
Von and Aurora. I think I know who you are lol. Did you have another baby? ?we all have kids, that’s great. Go us!! Mine got in cuz we had low income, but then my husband got a promotion and we were just barely over the limit and it is VERY expensive to keep them in there. Also, I think they have to be at least 6 or 9 months to start. But I would definitely go fill out an application to get them on the waitlist.
Awh! I figured it would be based off of low income. I most likely would not qualify. Thank you though. By the way it’s so awesome to know we are all mothers and continuing our education/ career for the future of our babies!! We totally rock, pray we all get in and we would definitely be great mama supporters of each other.
Hello everyone! I am around the 82-87 range depending on what points I am awarded! Everyone has amazing points! I'm very nervous for the results to roll in. Yikes 82 is the lowest score and that scares me a bit! Do you think I will be okay? Does anyone know of anyone else who is applying this cohort? Thanks and much luck to everyone! :)
Hey, guys, I have a question.
Does Grossmont really not allow prerequisite course repeats? Are there any of you that applied with one course repeat above a 2.5 GPA in your prereqs?
On their website, it says
“When the three courses combined G.P.A. is not 2.5 and if repeating one course could bring the science G.P.A. to 2.5, the student may repeat one science course, one time within a 5 year period. All three courses should not be repeated. A withdraw "W" from one of the science prerequisite.”
But on the official application it says that only one repeat for one course is allowed, and does not mention that it only applies to applicants with a <2.5 GPA on their prereqs.
I had an A on Micro but had to let go of the class, unfortunately.
Thanks in advance and good luck to you all!

So I believe you can repeat one science course. If you had to withdraw from micro, and have not repeated anatomy or physiology, then you can go ahead and take it again. If you have already repeated A or P, then I think you have used your one time. But I would talk to the nursing dept or your counselor to see if there is any wiggle room. Good luck!

Hey! Maybe I know you! My kids used to go there too. So sad that they don’t anymore. ? last fall was their last semester and I’ve been saving to send the little one to preschool when I start the program.
