I know most people are not concerned with the fall semester at this time, but is anyone else waiting to hear from Grossmont for the fall 2020 ASN program? I was biting my nails with the original 2-month wait for a decision, so this unlimited extension on their decision is driving me insane. Maybe it's just my way of over fixating on something other than the crisis at hand. Regardless, I'd love to connect with anyone else waiting on a decision for the fall program.

Has anyone heard of any new update regarding what's going to happen for Fall 2020 at Grossmont? It has been a little over a month since their last update. The indefinite wait is driving me nuts. I've been working at a hospital for the time being getting experience and sometimes getting to work with COVID patients. I remember at the start of the pandemic it was scary but as time went by I didn't hesitate going into those rooms rooms anymore. Heck I even volunteered to be sent to the covid units if needed. Now I'm just rambling. Anyway anyone else care to share their experiences with the pandemic so far? Best of luck to you all! My name is Jose by the way.
I applied to HOC LVN program as a backup plan in case I didn’t get accepted into grossmont. Now I’ve been accepted into the LVN program but I don’t think it’s worth it since I haven’t been rejected from grossmont ADN program. IDK if I should accept my seat into the LVN program or wait it out to see when grossmont will review applications again. This sucks ?

UPDATE 6/29/2020
The unprecedented situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic has been rapidly changing. Our goal is to provide as much information as possible. However, please keep in mind that we do not have answers to all questions, but we will share new information as soon as it becomes available. Please continue checking this site for the latest updates.
Below are frequently asked questions from applicants and potential applicants.
Q: I applied to the nursing program for the Fall 2020 cohort. What should I expect?
A: Since we do not have access to clinical sites because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we did not have any students graduating from the program in Spring 2020. As a result, we will not be able to accept new students in Fall 2020. We are keeping the applications that we have received and instead of applying for Fall, your application will be considered for the Spring 2021 cohort if we have access to the clinical sites in Fall 2020. Please email to [email protected] by 10/2/20 if you would like you application to be removed from the application pool.
Q: Will I be able to add to my turned in application packet to increase my points?
A: Unfortunately, you will not be able to submit additional documentation for extra points. Due to the unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to modify submitted applications. If you are not accepted and choose to reapply during a future application period, you will then submit your documentation for increased points with an updated application packet.
Q: When will the notifications for acceptance to the Spring 2021 cohort be sent out?
A: At this time, we anticipate sending out notifications at he end of October. However, it will all depend on the situation with the clinical sites and the COVID-19 related situation. All students who submitted an application for Fall 2020 will receive an email the address they provided on their application.
Q: When is the next application period?
A: Once the current students are able to return to the clinical agencies, we will be looking at resetting the next application period.
Q: How will Pass/No Pass (N/NP) be handled?
A: Students must have grades for all prerequisites, no P/NP will be accepted.
Q: How will Excused Withdrawals (EW) be handled?
A: If students had to EW because of COVID-19, we will not count those courses as attempts and will not count against the applicant's.
Q: Will on-line prerequisite labs be accepted for the Grossmont College Nursing program?
A: If students took classes with labs on-line during the COVID-19 Pandemic during the Spring, Summer and fall of 2020, we will accept them. It will not count against the applicants.
