In the transition class we covered complete assessments (really recognizing heart murmurs, adventitous lung sounds, etc.), along with ABG's, central line dssg changes, IV starts, hanging IV piggybacks, and IV push meds.I found the whole program to be challenging actually. It's a lot of work, but I can't stress enough how worth it was. I did feel though that go through this program was easier than LVN school. All the professors treated us, as LVN's, like professionals and peers. I can't begin to praise Prof. Tom Oertel enough. I learned a tremendous amount from him. He's tough, but as long as you do the work that is expected of you, he's fair.Good luck. Keep posting to let me know how you are doing.
