hello,

i am new to this forum and i'm still figuring out my way around here. i am a filipino nurse currently working in a private hospital here in new zealand. i specifically joined this forum to ask for any information on how i could go about applying for work in australia. i will be looking over the previous threads here to find some useful information. if you have any suggestions on what threads i can read on, i would appreciate it very much if you could provide me with the links. thanks a lot!!! hope to get to know some of you guys better. :) if there are any nurses out there who recently transferred to australia, i would love to hear from you.

thank you all!!

blessings.. :o

:grpwlcm: You should find some threads to help you out in the international forum.

thanks! :) i have realized that joining forums are one of the best ways to get first hand information from people who really know what they're talking about. :) i made a mistake of hiring a very expensive agent upon coming here to nz, only to realize when i got here that i could have saved heaps of money just by asking around the net. will be searching the threads tomorrow. gotta get some sleep first for night shift in a while. see yah!! :o

I've read on forum posts about lots of people at agencies and such taking advantage of

Filipino nurses trying to go through the work abroad process. You really have to watch out for yourself. I've even mentioned that I didn't understand why it isn't discussed in Filipino nursing schools what a person needs to do to keep from being taken advantage of. Seems like the older nursing instructors who have been around awhile could give some good advice to the young students. Well, good luck. Hope you like working in Australia!

We have a great big thread discussing the process for working in Australia so definitely worth looking that one up
