Published

Hello everyone! I am currently on my last year as a nursing student and I am already thinking of possible topics for a thesis. Could you all help me out and give me some ideas, or a topic you might want to research about on nursing? Right now my mind's shooting blanks, and it would really help me a lot if you share your ideas with me, don't worry i will not plagiarize, i only need a spark of inspiration! thanks a lot, i will keep you posted!

maby you could do it on a disease or history of nursing. Good luck with your thesis.

think about what's important to you when you become a nurse. think about something that will help you make somebody's life better. start with something small. why don't you read the works of other students in your school library to give you an idea. however, you need to cite that if you are gonna use it for your paper. yeah, i know, its hard and your mind goes blank when you think about thesis. try to search the internet too, and do a brainstorming. start now, because it gets harder when you dilly dally later on. goodluck. the last semester of nsg school is stressful, but it is fun too.

How about specific alternative medicine practice in a certain town in the Philippines? Siquijor will be interesting, or in Mt. Banahaw?

First, write down nursing topics that interest you.

  • Are you interested in nursing education? - do you want to find ways to improve clinical instruction in your school during RLE's? do you want to study the effectiveness of current clinical instruction in your school?
  • Are you interested in clinical practice - do you want to study the effectiveness of a nursing intervention (for example, current regimen used in the ICU to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia), do you want to study handwshing practices in the hospital you spend your RLE's on.
  • Are you intersted in community health - do you want to study family planning practices of a specific rural communtiy, how about childbearing and infant care practices?
  • Are you interested in psychosocial aspects of illness, etc. - do you want to study the stress levels of patients about to undergo a specific surgical intervention, etc.

After you've narrowed down your interest to a few, go to the library and check if you have enough background literature on the subject. It is important that there is previous published work on the topic for a beginning researcher so that you can use the previous literature as a guide.
