Grady RN Residency Winter 2020

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I see a post about Grady's summer 2019 residency program but not one for the upcoming winter. I also saw that the summer application was posted on Grady's site on Feb 15, 2019 which means that the winter application may be up in August or September of this year. Anyone know how residency's work in general? For example I don't graduate until December 2019. I have no clue when I am sitting for the NCLEX at this moment. So if you apply in August or September is it just a waiting game? Also what are some of the positions you are looking into applying to? I hear that you get to choose 3 areas. Not sure how they choose you to go into one out of the 3. I am thinking about NICU, Mother/Baby, or a surgical step down unit. I hear that mother/baby and nicu is very hard to get into which is fine. If it's meant to be for me it will be.

I accepted an offer for 5A but haven’t heard anything back from HR

Congratulations! I also accepted an offer for 5A! I haven’t heard from HR either but I’m assuming it might take a while to get to all of us like it took a while to send us an email after our interview.

So the recruiter told me I did not get an offer for either burn or sicu and that offers went out Friday. Then she tried to offer me an alternative unit 5a but I never interviewed for that unit and was not interested.

any news from HR yet? Anyone?

Not yet and you?

Have not heard a peep. I sent my full name and accepted like they asked, no response.

Have not heard anything. I have relocated to Georgia and I am just waiting.

I haven’t heard back either. I won’t relocate to Georgia until mid-January. But I do have my Georgia Registered Nurse License transferred already so that’s good to have before I start.

Yes, me too. I had to get that Ga. license before I moved. My hubby has an apt. in Atl for work so it was an easy transition. I am just using this extra time to get as many classes towards my next degree as possible.

I got a phone call and an email today maybe everyone else will too.

Was about your actual offer or???

She told me to log into the Grady portal and accept the offer.

How did you get your log in information?
