Hey there,

I'm curious if anyone has done the Grady externship offered in December. I'm pretty sure they send out

a flyer in October for nursing students to go to an open house. I'd really like to more if anyone has any insight!

I did not do the externship, however, was offered a position (was unable to accept). However, it is a fabulous opportunity and pretty much one of the few ways to secure employment at Grady upon graduation. Go to the open house with all required information. After submitting your documents, talk with the leaders in your area of interest. Afterwards, follow up with all of the leaders you discussed and the head lady in charge of the program (you will be given his/her contact information at the open house). Good Luck!

The dates of the open house will be posted under the nursing link on the career section of Grady. It is not there yet.

Sunny, Did they have a link for the summer externship?? I stalked the website all spring waiting for something to pop up and never saw anything.

I was accepted into the summer externship. Make sure that you go to Grady job board after you submit your information at open house. A lot of people didn't know that it was a two step process.

yes the pp was correct about applying online after the extern fair. Yes, the flyer was on the website about a month prior to the summer open house. The open house was in March and the externship started in late June.
