Grady ER or Wellstar L&D

Published

HELP! I am a new grad, passed my NCLEX May 3rd. I externed at Wellstar in L&D for a year before I graduated and started orientation as a new grad RN May 21st. Then all of the sudden, Grady ER (which I had applied for in November 2017 and interviewed in February 2018) called me a few weeks ago to offer me a position. I am so torn and don't know what to do. I thought I loved L&D and have just kind of found it boring from time to time, but then exciting when things get crazy. My favorite moments are the adrenaline rush moments. I'm over the whole birthing experience. But sometimes I love it depending on the patient. I have to start in less than 2 weeks and have gone through with the Grady new hire process to the point where I take my badge photo. I want to be on a trauma team and save lives. But I also love L&D and I need some guidance. Grady requires a 2 year commitment while Wellstar doesn't. Wellstar pays more for the first year but Grady bumps it up after 1 year. The traffic should be about the same. Atlanta just sucks for traffic. And the thought of quitting to my manager makes me feel sick because I've already started orienting. HELP!
