Depending on the mood of the class, here are a few possibilities:
Good Riddance - Green Day
Long and Winding Road - The Beatles
Graduation Day - Chris Isaak
I Will Remember You - Sarah McLachlan
Here's to the Night - Eve 6
Closing Time - Green Day
Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd
We Are the Champions - Queen
Days Go By - Keith Urban
Stand By Me - Ben E. King
thank you for your input. THis is much harder than it seems! WE do have the candle ceremony at the end (in honour of F. Nightingale). The last class had the pomp and circumstance (or whatever it is..) and it just doesn't seem appropriate for nursing, don't know why. Anyway, thanks again. If anyone has any more suggestions let me know!
I made a CD for some of my classmates and the first song on it is the theme song from Enterprise.(The Star Trek show) I know, it doesn't sound like it would have anything to do with nursing but it is a great song-very moving and inspirational. The name of it is "Where My Heart Will Take Me" and I believe the guy who sings it is named James Banbury.

I will be graduating from my LPN program in July and as part of our teeny "student council" I am trying to come up with some song ideas. OUr school is part of the public schools and funding isn't there. We have to fundraise or donate all we can for graduation. I know that has nothing to do with songs, but something else later...
We don't want "I believe I can fly" although appropriate, but the class that graduated last week used that one, as well as the one before, AND they both used "I hope you dance". I am open to any suggestions you may have.
ALSO, is there a possibilty we could get donations from businesses to help with our graduation? There is a florist who did my wedding and he is great, I'd love to send him a formal letter to see if they'd donate a couple bouquets for the stage and Candleabras. Is it innapropriate to do that?
Thank you so much for any help. If you have any other suggestions for our ceremony I'd love to hear them!
