Graduating in BSN -> Bridging course or NCLEX???

World Registration

Published

Hi I am about to finish my program in BSN here in the Philippines soon. After that I'll be moving to Australia but I don't know the process of becoming an RN in Melbourne and its Requirements:

I have no plans in getting a Licensure exam here in the Philippines because it will be pointless in taking a Licensure Exam in a place where you won't practice at all.

A classmate of mine is planning to move to Canada after graduation as well and skipping the Licensure exams here altogether.

He said that he was just going to take a bridging course and NCLEX and that would be it. Will the process be similar in Australia as well?

I've been looking over the bridging courses in Australia and I seem to be at lost on what I should take.

Any Advice?

Thanks in advance :)

When moving country I fully recommend checking the new country's board of Nursing website and confirm if necessary with them that you do not have to be licensed in the country you trained. I am sure Canada does have that requirement and Australia may also have that requirements. Your friend needs to check out the Provincial college of RN's and you need to check AHPRA website. Both countries will need to assess your application before a decision is made in regards Bridging courses
