Hi I got in the residency. But I’m last weeks here in the hospital I’m scheduled with the nurses whose were willing to teach. Thank you so much.

Graduated 2014 and for personal reasons I didn’t take the NCLEX right away. And didn’t have a medical related job. I took the nlcex this year and passed. Now I work in a small hospital. I got hired on the spot and during the interview I was assured that I will get the training that I need. But I am not getting the training that I need and I feel so unsafe and unsure about myself. I feel so defeated every time I’m at work. I do work with some nurses who are willing to teach but it’s not like that all the time. I am passionate about this and I want to be a safe nurse. I understand that there’s a pandemic and we don’t have the staff to train. I’ve already looked at residency programs. I’ve found some that will train nurses without experience. But getting in a residency program is not sure because it’s so competitive. And will mostly likely hire actual new grads. I’m still going to try and apply. I’m confused and I don’t know what to do. I feel like I need an actual training with a program like a residency is the best for me.
