  1. What is the work environment like, is it toxic, friendly, are they willing teach new nurses? What is the orientation and training process? What are the most significant challenges faced by nurses in this OR, and how does the team support one another? What is the nurse-to-patient ratio in the OR, and how does that impact the workflow?
  2. hi go ahead and DM me. we can also send messages via facebook or instagram
  3. I am currently in a similar situation. I'm also a new nurse with only 4 months of experience. I work in a hospital, because of the pandemic we are short-staffed, and they really don't have a structured system for new nurses so the transition is difficult, after orientation I was given 6 patients, I was so overwhelmed. I feel so incompetent and my critical thinking is not there. it's still hard for me to communicate with doctors and other health care professionals. I find it hard to apply what I learned from school to the actual setting. I had to talk to my manager if she can pair with a nurse who was more willing to teach. that really helped me a lot. But since I feel like I'm not getting the training that I need, I applied for a residency to help with the transition. I have friends who joined the residency and said it helped and especially knowing that you're not alone in this journey and having that support system. hopefully, everything works out well for you.
  4. Hi, have you decided on where to go for residency? I start at OSUWMC end of September.
  5. Hi I got in the residency. But I’m last weeks here in the hospital I’m scheduled with the nurses whose were willing to teach. Thank you so much.
  6. I was in the same position 4 months ago. I applied to a lot of places but mostly nursing homes and some hospitals. Out of all the places I applied to, I never expected to get a call from the hospital. It took almost two months for me to get a call back. I know it can be frustrating but just apply. Of course, most places will look for someone with experience but some are willing to take in new grads and offer the training they did. Just keep applying. I know you’ll get the job.
  7. Graduated 2014 and for personal reasons I didn’t take the NCLEX right away. And didn’t have a medical related job. I took the nlcex this year and passed. Now I work in a small hospital. I got hired on the spot and during the interview I was assured that I will get the training that I need. But I am not getting the training that I need and I feel so unsafe and unsure about myself. I feel so defeated every time I’m at work. I do work with some nurses who are willing to teach but it’s not like that all the time. I am passionate about this and I want to be a safe nurse. I understand that there’s a pandemic and we don’t have the staff to train. I’ve already looked at residency programs. I’ve found some that will train nurses without experience. But getting in a residency program is not sure because it’s so competitive. And will mostly likely hire actual new grads. I’m still going to try and apply. I’m confused and I don’t know what to do. I feel like I need an actual training with a program like a residency is the best for me.
  8. Has anyone applied for Nurse residency for Fall 2020 and got a call back?
