Graduated nursing school 2yrs ago, taken nclex 3 times, HELP!

I graduated nursing school 2 yrs ago with so much ambition and excitement until I started the 'great' journey of taking the boards. I have attempted them 3 times now, taken Kaplan, and now so much time has passed and I'm lost. I don't know where to start again with studying. I feel like my motivation has been flushed down the toilet and it's really dissapointing. I know that I have forgot things and plus the MN boards have gotten harder this past May. I just feel like I have screwed myself! I want and need this relief off my shoulders, for financial reasons and for just plain sanity! Just wondering if anyone has advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!

palsjen,

i have been in your shoes and know exactly how you feel. i passed 3.5 yrs after graduating nursing school. i was wonrking full time for the most part and then went part time this past may to concentrate more on passing. i'm in texas and we have a cut off for taking the exam up to 4 yrs after graduation. i have taken kaplan before and probably bought every review book imaginable. in the end i think what helped me was approaching my study methods differently, meaning, i focused on the areas i got back from the state board that were weaker or needed reinforcing. i made a study schedule (i hade 4-5 weeks before i tested again) and also in that time took a review class offered and paid by my employer. it is the sylvia rayfield review. i had a phenomenal instructor who i still keep in touch with. i think this class, my study schedule and learning the patho behind the disease and not overstudying each day, lots of prayer, and being positive and staying away from negativity is what helped me in the end. i know you can do it! you got through nursing school, next time you test, just go in with your head held high and i know its hard, but just go in calmly, faithfully, and stay positive! take deep breaths and keep telling yourself you can do it! remember nothing is impossible!

all the best to you and good luck to you!
