Graduate Nurse Residency Programs

Hello,

I am about to graduate from UTMB in December and I have started applying for jobs but I am trying to find some insiders information on some of the graduate nurse residency programs at the hospitals in the Houston/Galveston area. If you possibly know anything about them please let me know, and especially if you are in one or have been through one then your input is greatly appreciated. I am looking for things such as how long the program was, were the nurses nice and/or helpful, was the residency good, did it prepare you to work at that hospital, pay and benefits if possible. I am mostly interested in an ICU spot, trauma if at all possible, but I will take all information. I am a licensed paramedic and will be graduating with my BSN degree. Your best bet for obtaining program details will be on those organizational web sites. These will have the application deadlines, program length, etc. If you're looking for personal insight about folks who have gone through one of the programs, I encourage you to post your query in the Texas forum.
