Hey everyone,
I passed my exit HESI, and I'm graduating this December 13th. I was told that my school did not get all the transcripts finalized until January 12th. I'm wondering if I can not work in a hospital until I have my transcripts sent over? I'm just confused about the whole process. When do you get your graduate nurse permit?
Also, what can I expect in the interviews? Any suggestions?

Alot of them in my class were able to send in the paperwork for the Temporary Practice Permit before graduation. Then, when the state sent in their paperwork after graduation, your paperwork would all ready be on file and you would get your TPP sooner. Most of them in my class got their permits in 2 weeks.

Depends on your state. We could work the day after graduation as GNs, so far as I know - as long as school was willing to fax over a statement saying that we'd "met all the requirements" to sit for the NCLEX. Mine was sent over a few weeks before final transcripts were sent out.

In Texas we can get our temp permit online 5 business days after graduation.

Depends on your state. In MA, where I live, there is no such thing as temporary practice permits or GN's. You must hold a valid RN or LPN license to practice in MA.

Is this applicable to foreign graduates? If yes, how can I obtain one?
Because, I read from somewhere (I'm pretty sure it's from the website of TX BON) that temporary permits are only issued to graduates who completed an accredited basic nursing education program within the United States. but I'm trying to go back to that page but I can't seem to find it or I can't remember which part it is.
Thanks!
