I know this is pretty pathetic but I was just wondering if nursing programs look at classes like English. I have had a lot of things come up this semester and my English grade has fallen to a B and by the end of the semester it may fall to a C. I know the sciences are the most important but my grade was concerning me. Thanks

I can only speak for my school, but they take all of your classes into consideration, and a C is the lowest accepted.

It depends on the admission standards for the schools. Some look at only the relevant sciences, some look at total cumulative. If I were in a similar situation, I would see two courses of action: Work my @ss off and get an A by the end of the semester or take the course over next semester and get an A. That is just me though, and it worked for me. However, perhaps I would have still gotten in with bad grades. Who knows?

To get into the ADN program at my school the classes that they look at are A&P I and II, Micro, and English 111 (college comp). I do not know how your school works, but at mine a C could keep someone out of the nursing program. To be accepted we need a certain number of points. A=4pts, B=3pts and so on. So yes English grades are extreemly important, just as important as the Sciences. Just think about how many reports and care plans you will have to write once you are a nurse. I assume that those are just a couple of reasons why English is important.
Of course every school is different, yours may not even look at english as a seperate grade, they may just look at your total GPA.
