That irks me to no end! I've read so many posts on here where people state that "your grades don't matter!" Are you kidding me?
I bust my butt to get A's. I think my grades reflect my work ethic and my willingness to learn. I am not content etching by as average. I do not want an average nurse caring for me. I do not want to be an average nurse caring for others. I want to be the best nurse that I can be, and I hope that others that currently don't think likewise drop the mantra that a C is good enough. Even if an employer may not look at your transcript, those grades should still "matter."
I don't care whether other people work hard to get good grades or not. What I am concerned is myself getting as many A's as possible as I hope that will give me an edge to get into the nursing program as it is very competitive nowadays. Age is not on my side, I dont have any work experience in this field, I cannot find employers to give me good references as I have never worked in this country. So the least I could do is work hard in my studies, hoping that I will get good grades. More so, in everything I do, I make it a point to do my best.
Everyone has the right to their opinion and I give due respect to each of your opinion.

Yes, a C student is classified as "average", but the original post equates "C student" with being an "average nurse". And that's where I disagree.
