Does anyone wear these?

My knees/legs hurt/feel heavy by the end of my shifts and a co-worker surgical tech told me to wear compression stockings. She says nothing less than a thigh high 30-40 mmHg will do me any good. Do they really need to be that tight?

I don't have varicose veins or circulation issues, just tired legs. I'm a pretty averaged sized person, maybe a little bigger so that's not helping either but I'm working on it ;)

Heh I'm kind of a shorty so they are perfect for me. I tried another kind and they roll down right into that crease your knee makes and they are too tight at the very top so they are very painful. I need to make a tiny cut in them. A girl I work with wears the thigh high more sheer type material and is always telling me to get them...they are so easy to put on....blah. She has skinny skinny legs and mine are like hefty tree trunks. I think not.
