GPC-receiving acceptance or rejection letter to nursing school

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I have applied to the Fall 2010 nursing program at Georgia Perimeter College (GPC). I was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to receive your acceptance or rejection letter? Thanks

NicNac received her letter today. I haven't heard anything yet. Waiting and praying!

I won't be there for Fall 2010

A "No" letter came in the mail today, saying all slots are full.

GPA was 3.36 using credits from a previous degree, A&P with labs was 4.0.

Took the Net twice

Score 1: 59 reading 90 math, score two 70 reading 100 math.

I was accepted intothe Fall 09 class..... we were told that they received over 6000+ applications and narrowed that down to 1000 qualified applications and then they accepted 180 applicants.

It is very competitive to get in! and very stressful to stay in! We had one gal make it all the way through class and clinicals the first semester and then fail on her third attempt a clinical lab skill (the week before the final) and thus failed out of the program.

I got the same letter today. Heartbreak. Are you going to look elsewhere or apply for Spring 2011?

Under your transcripts section does it read under major and department Pre-Nursing, Universal Voice Invite? I don't remember seeing that before. Does that mean my status has changed? If the people who received the acceptance and rejection letters could check their status on gpc.edu and let me know that would be great! I still have not received notice either way! I am nervous and scared. I have a great overall GPA and a 3.0 science GPA but a so so NET score. What were everyone else's scores (the accepted and rejected)?

Thanks

Mine has had the Universal Voice Invite for the past year. Have no clue what that indicates. Good Luck to you! Hope you hear something soon. I know the wait is torture.

Hey Cloggersmom, Don't feel bad, looks like alot of us are in the same boat. I applied and did not get accepted either. I have a 3.8 GPA 4.0 sciences GPA and a 77 NET. But its hard to say what they wanted. Others who I know got in has lesser #'s than me. So what is their criteria?

I would also like to know. I wonder if we call and ask if we should apply again for Spring or not?

Hey Cloggersmom, GPC is currently on Spring Break this week. So I am assuming no one will be around to answer the emails or calls. I figured next week I will go see my Advisor and speak with her to find out what is going on and see if she can give the name of someone in the nursing dept. that will tell me where I went wrong and if I should give the Spring another shot.

My biggest regreat is not applying at other schools. I thought for sure that I would get into GPC. I know of several others that got in and did not have my GPA or my NET. Or maybe did better on the NET but not as good as GPA. So who really knows what to think?

Feel free to email me at [email protected] and we can chat more.

I got my acceptance letter early this week.

Would you mind telling all of us that did not get in what your GPA's and NET scores were? We would really appreciate it.

Thanks!!
