I am currently in a BSN program and thinking of going to CRNA in the future. The school I am at says that you should not be able to make an A in the nursing program. So far they are sticking to this. So, my question is what type of GPA do I need. I currently have around a 3.2 GPA.
Also, please tell me what school you are in or finished from.
Thanks
I attended The University of Oklahoma and left after 1 semester with a .86 GPA with no science classes. I now have been attending a community college for the last 5 semesters working on my prereqs for my BSN and I have a 3.45 after 50+ credits. However with my OU transcrips I have a 2.5 GPA. When I apply for CRNA school (down the road) will they take into account that I have never gotten lower than a "B" in any science or math course. AND should I take the classes I did bad in over, AND how does the addmissions look at courses that are repeated........*whew*
DOES THAT MAKE SENCE?

I'm not on any admissions boards, but if I saw such an applicant my first response would be...this person wasn't interested in learning and put out no effort, but with time and a little maturation became a respectable student. The key is to show continued improvement. As for retaking classes, that depends on if they are going to be needed to get into the program you are looking at. Best bet is to contact advisors at the schools you are looking into.
I agree. I was actually kicked out of university for a semester and placed on academic probation in my first year out of high school. I thought these transcripts would haunt me for the rest of my life, but since I have done well in my diploma and BSN program, my old grades did not effect my ability to get into CRNA school. Point is, the admissions people look at the big picture and if you prove that you can improve and do well with a little more effort, then those poor GPAs from years past should not make a difference.
