GPA needed for NP program?

I am a current student in a traditional BSN program at a top 25 nursing program in the country. I finished my freshman year in the program with around a 3.6 overall GPA because I got C+ in anatomy and physiology both semesters. My goal is to be an FNP. Does anyone know what the needed GPA is to get into an FNP program? How important is GPA? Will the C+ in anatomy really hurt my chances if I keep a decent GPA throughout the next 3 years? Will grad schools take into consideration that I go to a highly ranked school so the academics may be more competitive than a smaller college?

It's completely dependent on the programs to which you apply. You could roll into a for-profit, online NP program with a 2.0 as long as you've got the cash.

A reputable, established NP program will typically frown on Cs in any of their core prerequisite courses. Also, in my program at least, they only cared about the grade, not the difficulty of the institution where the class was taken.

When I was looking into schools some wanted a gpa of 3.0 and some wanted a gpa of 2.5....most wanted a 3.0. It seemed like most didn't look at grades for prerequisites but I think that's because most nursing programs required a C or better to pass. It seems like as long as you pass tthem you are good to go! And I'm not sure if they look at your nursing gpa or your overall gpa.
