When you were accepted into the nursing program were only the nursing prerequisites used in determining your GPA or all college courses ever taken?
I am applying to a community college that only looks at 13 credits and a TEAS Test. The program is a AS-RN program. I already have a B.S. in exercise science, however the 13 credits they are looking I have a gpa of 2.92 and they require a 3.0 . I am a little nervous. . will they still look at my application ?
If your school requires a 3.0 for consideration, there is no point in you applying until you retake a couple classes. It is called a minimum requirement for a reason. If you school is competitive, then you will need higher than a 3.0 for acceptance. Just dont want you to get your hopes up when you don't even qualify for application. You should retake all of your C grade classes, to replace the grade and bump your GPA over 3.0.
For OP. It really depends on your program requirements and that will vary everywhere. The program I am starting in Spring 14 is a waitlist program that just looks at pre req GPA and HESI min score to qualify for the waitlist. The universities al have min pre req GPA only with TEAS scores for entrance, but theya re competitive and need much higher than the minimum to get accepted. GL
