governors grapple with aging of america

as u.s. governors have spent their summer meeting examining ways to help the elderly, hundreds of disabled protesters in wheelchairs have shut down seattle traffic, seeking support to force medicaid to more quickly turn to home-based long-term care, rather than relying on institutions.

drastic times call for drastic measures.

it's unfortunate that handicapped and elderly have to fight so hard to get the attn. they so deserve.

and how long have we known about the plight of the baby boomers; the potential depletions of the ss budget when we retire; and the gross neglect that is happening as i write this? sadly, the elderly have always been on the bottom of legislations' priority list.

it's about damn time. :stone
