Got into Rush University's ABSN Program (Chicago)!!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just found out a week ago I was accepted to Rush University's 12-month Accelerated BSN Program for Jan. 2007!!!

I applied Early Decision, came to Rush in Feb. to take the TEAS exam and interview for 30 minutes, then just got my letter last Saturday!

It took 2.5 years for me to get into nursing school---a bit over 2 years since I decided I wanted to become an ICU nurse.

The whole process was tortuous, confusing, and sometimes as stressful as hell, so if anyone has any questions about getting into an ABSN program, feel free to email me directly or ask here.

Hi,

Can you tell me how the program is going. I got accepted for January 08 ABSN

Thanks

Hi Raymond,

I just read your post and even though it's a little bit old, I hope you can help me out with some questions.

I'm looking to ABSN programs to apply, and I looked at Rush's website, but I can't find this option. All I found out is information about MS program. I would like to know if this is the same as an ABSN or if it's a totally different thing.

Please let me know where I can find information about it.

Thanks a lot!

Congrats! I was just curious -- where did you do your pre-reqs? Did you do them online or in a classroom setting?

Oh wow. I didn't realize how old this thread is...

Rush no longer has the ABSN program. They now have the Master's entry program for people with a bachelor's degree in something else. It is totally different, you graduate with a Masters degree and the program it think runs for 18months(not sure).

Hi Lucia,

I'm no longer a nursing student and left Rush before I finished the program. Long story. They don't have an ABSN program any more, as posters below have said. I work in medicine now. Good luck.
