Yahoo! I was originally placed OML but my packet dropped down to board selected today. I applied back in November and got the letter in Dec. that said "congrats youve been selected but no open slots now so when they come available youll be contacted". I never figured they would contact me so Im suprised. Anyhow, I went in and signed my contract again. She said it would now go up chain until they cut me some orders!!! She said that would take a couple months, maybe summertime, what was everyone elses timeline?

Im curious though, my (14 page) contract said I had the guaranteed generic course. My packet has the paper signed for critical care course tdy en route to duty station. So I would go OBC straight to course then to duty station. She said the contracts hadnt been updated but that I was guaranteed to go to the critical care course off the bat based on the paper signed in my packet. I was a little concerned though that the contract itself states generic course guarantee without set date and doesnt mention critical care. Does that sound right?

She says I dont need to recommsion since Im already O1 in reserves. I already have signed DA 71 so I guess that doesnt need to be resigned for AD? Also, she said not to worry about the 368 and that they would make sure I got my orders and released from Reserves.

Anyhow, its hard to believe but Im pretty happy. Guess ill believe it better when I see actual orders or get a call from HRC. Is everyone getting there first duty station picks? Is Madigan a hard base to get? Thanks

For most SI's it is 1500 hours & I believe it is for 8A also. If you get your 8A in the reserves it might not carry over to AD. If it does carry over to AD there is a good chance that you will not be sent to the course. But there is also a chance that if you get it on the Reserve side that it will not carry over to the AD side. I was a M5 in the Reserves and when I came back in if I wanted to keep it I was going to have to reapply for it or go to the course. I switched to a 66E so it was not a issue so I can't tell you how easy the process would have been.

I got my M5 in the Reserves and it has carried over to AD.

I appled for the AMEDD 66H, boarded but informed I am on the OML. Will I get selected? What is it all about. I I am opting for the ARMY Reserve

The OML is a list of qualified candidates who were not offered a slot. It depend on where you are on the OML and the number of nurses who are selected who turn down their commission if you end up with a slot.
