Got in LMU today...anyone have advice?

Published

I got my acceptance letter to LMU today! Does anyone know anything about the Blount Campus? Advice? What to expect, etc? When are clinicals and lectures, and all that fun stuff? Also is anyone else going with me? I've applied at Pellissippi also, and am on the alternate list. I'm still waiting to hear from Roane.

Do not. I repeat do not attend LMU Blount campus! I am in my second semester in their associate RN program and it is the worst 8 grand I have ever spent. Pros: New friends, first semester instructor is amazing, they have one vending machine. Cons: Horrible disorganization, no communication between staff and students, they only have one vending machine.

No but in all seriousness if I could go back in time I would join RSCC or Pellissippi's nursing program. I was accepted to both and regret the decision to go to this school's. FYI you will have to take a class over Abraham Lincoln, history class, a serious complete and utter waste of time. Like I said I am in my second semester and am not sure if I can pass it at this point. I study hours a day so im no slacker flash cards the whole bit. Yet the instructor, this is her first year teaching, my psych teacher is (and I am not kidding at all!) seriously has mental issues, is medicated heavily, or needs to be medicated. You must make an 80% to pass the program, which dosent sound difficult yet my class starting with 47 people now has 32 or so in it... second semester.

Complete waste of time and money, MARK MY WORDS, you will be DISAPPOINTED if you make the decision to go to LMU Blount campus.

Details on the psych prof please! (feel free to pm me!) Thanks for the warning! I'm praying I get in RSCC (won't know until May) or Pellissippi. I'm an alternate at Pellissippi, and they said I'm in the top 10 on the alternate list but they won't say where exactly. I know they let in 2 already, so that's 8 possible spots I need open still. I'd rather not go to LMU for the cost factor anyway, but you've kinda scared me of the other stuff to! I know the 80 % rule applies at all the schools though. And yeah, the lincoln life thing is uber lame.

LMU is supposed to have a good reputation in TN. last years class everybody got a job fairly quickley from what i heard of. i graduate this may and have been lookin around some and applied some too. but as for you question i was at the Harrogate site. i absolutly dispise the way they teach here and stuff (not letting us have pp slides, too much variety in different teachers way to doing junk). i would still pick LMU over a community college just for the fact of better reputation even though you have more crap to sift through.

hopfully the pool of poop leads to a job right?

Yeah no pp here. all the teachers say study like this you take test it is not like they said. . and homie as far as getting job, my mom is anRN all my friends are, many went to community colleges and all got jobs at a drop of a hat. They look to see what kind of exp you have and if you passed ur boards that is all employers care about, honestly dont think ppl give a crap about ur school. and FYI LMU has a pass rate of 43%. I myself jus failed out today :(. getting into lpn program taking an entrance exam tomoro morning. but seriously Never again will I give lmu money
