Hello fellow students! I applied to the Summer 2023 ADN nursing program at Goodwin University with 16 points (which probably isn't enough, but still hopeful) and wondering if anyone else is in the waiting period with me? I know the cut-off was 17 points for the last couple of semesters, but maybe I'll get lucky.

Hello! 🙂 I do not know how many applied to the LPN bridge during my application cycle. I did ask but didn't get an answer. I do know of some LPNs who applied to the regular program because they felt they needed those first 2 semesters as a "refresher." The number of points varies each semester depending on who applies, but I had 17 points.
When I was getting ready to apply, I asked my advisor at the time if the LPN bridge applicants were put into a separate pool & she told me yes. So you won't be lumped into the entire gigantic pool of ADN applicants. I want to say that they typically accept 8 LPNs into the bridge. So the 8 people with the most points in the bridge pool will be accepted. For some reason, there are 10 in my group, not sure how those extra 2 spots opened up.
Also, when it comes time to find out if you got in you will get an email first. The official letter will come in the mail a few days later. They sent the acceptance emails to all the regular program applicants on a Friday. A classmate of mine got her email & told me. I was convinced I had been rejected and spent my weekend devastated. They waited until the following Monday to send the bridge acceptance emails. Not sure if that's the usual protocol or not.
Hope this helped. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much for the information!! I have asked my advisor multiple questions and they stated they cannot answer any information in regards to the LPN bridge program! If you do not mind me asking in regards to payment, did you have to pay a monthly amount or were they able to do everything in loans? (Trying to prepare financially!!) Also do you know what the lowest point that was accepted? Currently have 11 waiting for my TEAS fingers crossed!

So weird that they've told you they cannot answer any info about the bridge. Honestly, it's probably that they just don't know! I had 3 different advisors before I got into the program and at one point I didn't have one at all because they hadn't replaced the last one yet! And this was during registration too! They all gave me conflicting information. I actually ended up reaching out to the ADN program advisor with some questions I had. This is the email he responded to me with back in January:
"The Associate Degree in Nursing Program accepts LPNs for the Spring and Summer semesters. The cut off score has been between 15-17 in the last couple of semesters. NUR 190 (3 credits) is online with Charter Oak State College and NUR 195 (1 credit) is a Goodwin course in the hybrid and or online format for the 2nd 7 weeks of the semester (in the past it has been offered on THURS 5-8). There is no clinical in the first bridge semester. Total course credits in the first semester are four and that does not meet the six credits required to qualify for financial aid. All other nursing courses range from seven to nine credits.
The last three semesters would be NUR 200 (four-hour class), NUR 210 (four-hour class) and NUR 220 (six-hour class) with day and evening options. Each course will have a lecture class once a week and a nine-hour clinical once a week. The clinicals are at a medical-health facility and some skill training/labs are at the Goodwin Nursing Lab. Each semester your class and clinical might be different days and times. Typically, students are in the program for two days a week and then additional time out of school for reading, assignments and studying for exams.
If you have any additional questions let me know how I can assist. Best of luck with your application process for the Summer semester."
So yeah, unfortunately, the payment for the bridge is out of pocket because it's only 4 credits. I set up a payment plan in self-service and paid it off that way. The Goodwin Bridge course was not hybrid, it was online via ZOOM on Thursdays from 5-8 PM. The Charter Oak class was asynchronous.
I don't know what the point cut-off was in my application cycle but the LPN I know who applied to the regular program got in with 15 points. BEST OF LUCK! 🙂

I had almost all the points ... I did all my prerequisites at Goodwin, took the TEAS , had a bachelors and masters degree in psychology...
I don't remember how many points but was two shy of the total.
like I said VERY disappointed after spending so much money at Goodwin that they couldn't do any better with the payment plan 😞
