Goodwin Nursing Program...

Once in the nursing program, it's 5 semesters of just the one nursing class and clinical, so that's technically part-time. For the pre-reqs, the more points you have, the more likely you are to get into the program. Each class taken at Goodwin gives you points, as does you Goodwin GPA, any previous degree and your score on the TEAS. I took 2 classes a semester for 4 semesters to do my pre-reqs and qualify for financial aid and I made it into the program on my first try. I took night classes and online classes, they do offer mod classes too, where it's 15 weeks of class smushed into 7.5. So, yes, it can be done part-time. The info session helps, but always keep your eye on the sheet with the point system. They usually have the cutoff around 16 points. Good luck!

I Think I am at 12 points. Avoiding if I have to retake prereqs. Might take an EMT class there and that's 6 credits if that's the case.

So went to the info session. They didn't touch base on how many days a week have class and clinical. My wife says when she went to a session there it's 2 times a week.

The person running the session did tell us that those people coming in with all their prerequisites don't have to retake them. They do have to take 2 to 4 classes at Goodwin though. They encourage them to take classes in Public Health or the BSN program though.

So lots to chew on.

Hoping once I get into the nursing part can work a deal with work doing 2 16s during the week and 1 8 on my weekend on. Then 2 class/clinical during the week wouldn't be bad for 20 month's.

Only concern will be financing my way through Goodwin. Going to start researching scholarships. I am only eligible for the Pell Grant, but I have to reread the fine print at work. Because if I use the Pell Grant think I am ineligible for tuition reimbursement, but if I utilize private loans I am still eligible for reimbursement.

Sooo went up to the school. Actually a bit stoked. Have 1 free hour class doesn't count for GPA but get a point. Taking 4 classes plus the 1 hour class gives me 5 points.

If I can get a 3.0 or higher GPA more points. I feel confident received a 74 on the TEAS but the part I bombed at was AP2; I didn't take AP2 yet with the TEAS. So if I can achieve an 80 or higher boost my points up.

By end of the Spring of next can see myself achieving 20 to 23 points so excited about that.

Debating to take computer science at the local college this summer.

Then plan to take Stats in the fall. Have to see how I can finance it but thinking of taking Health Spanish 1 and 2 in the Fall as well.

Then Health Care Writing and Health Ethics class in the Spring.

I want to but have to see about money...I took AP almost 3 years ago...Thinking as a refresher take an online human biology class but have to chew on that.

Then hoping to apply for Summer or Fall of 2019 for their Nursing Program. I have to verify but think I can use reimbursement with federal aid, private loans, and scholarships hopefully avoid out of pocket expenses.

20 - 23 points is a very high number but if you could get that then you are golden. Do you have any degrees already? Because if you don't have any degrees, with that 74 on the teas and a perfect GPA AND after taking 7 classes at Goodwin, that would bring you to 15 points.

Finishing up my first semester at Goodwin. Thankfully only online classes. I dread the drive up there.

So didn't achieve the grade I wanted to for my advanced healthcare writing class but I passed.

Finishing up Statistics if I can obtain 85 to 90 in my last 3 quizzes/final coming up should be able to achieve a 90.

Have a online library research class have to finish this week. No grade but gives you 1 point towards nursing admission.

For the Spring plan to take Computer Sciences took it eons ago so it lasped and tried CLEPPING but that was a disaster. Then taking Ethics.

Possibly over the Summer plan to take Healthcare Spanish or in the Fall. I might take a second class as well in the Summer but that depends on funds as well. Thinking of taking either AP2 over again in case I apply to other schools or just an online Intro no lab human anatomy class.

Then take the TEAS late Summer or early Fall. Apply for the Spring of 2020 Nursing Program.

Think my prereqs expire Fall of 2020.

Do have a Bachelor's Degree.
