Goodwin Nursing Program Summer 2020

Hey everyone! I’m opening this up for people to post any updates on this semester’s round of applicants. I just took the TEAS today and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to wait to find out if I’m in. Good luck everyone!

Hi all! I called the nursing department this morning. She said acceptance letters have been mailed, and to expect them soon. I also asked what the cutoff was for points and she said 15!!!!!!!

So if you haven’t and aren’t going to take any pre-reqs at Goodwin, it’s pretty much pointless to apply, yeah?

Not necessarily. You get up to 7 points for prerequisites at Goodwin but you may score better on your TEAS exam and end up with more points than other people regardless. Check out the score sheet under the nursing program description on the website before you make that decision. Good luck!

If I got a 100 on the TEAS my score would still be 12 max because I didn’t take any classes at Goodwin, if I’m interpreting it correctly. I haven’t attended an info session or anything so I could be wrong.

I would just take 1 semester with 3 classes. You would get 3 points for taking some courses there, it would give you enough credits to factor in your GPA and if you have a 4.0 that would be another 4 points for a total of 19. It's up to you if it's worth it and those courses can always be higher level to count towards your BSN.
