I wanna work in USA. I passed NCLEX -RN board of california for two years ago.But I can't go to USA. Because I got score IELTS 5

My English language 's not good. If i go to work or study LPN or Nurse aids . Do you think it good for me ?

I plan to study LPN in USA. But I don't know a good process ?

Could u tell me how to go to USA easy?:uhoh3:

Have moved your post to the International forum as more appropriate there.

If you have passed NCLEX RN then I am not sure why you want to study LPN in the US. At the moment there is retrogression and no idea how long it is going to last so even if you was to do your nurse training in the US there is no guarantee that you can stay once you have completed your course. Currently every nurse waiting to move to the US is affected and you are looking at over 2 years before you will be able to move, also a lot of employers are delaying taking on foreign nurses whilst retrogression is ongoing You would do much better to concentrate on passing your English exam and then look for an employer. Watch English speaking movies and radio, practice talking and if you have any friends that speak English ask them to help you.

There is nothing easy about moving to the US especially at the moment with retrogression. I suggest you have a read in this forum especially threads on retrogression, sticky on California as initial license as you have to provide a SSN after within 3 years and you have mentioned it is 2 years since you took the exam.

If you have money and time to do this, as a Thai, you can apply for a student visa to study English in the US. You will improve your English in just 6 to 12 months.

Studying as LPN in the US after passing NCLEX-RN is not a rational choice. My suggestion: Enroll in an ENGLISH program instead.

After that, you can pass IELTS, get your visa screen and then while studying English, you may be able to find a sponsor for Greencard.

By the way, for Filipinos reading this, getting student visa to study English in the US is NOT an option for us. The Philippines is recognized by the US as English speaking country and that there are good schools here to study English. So if applying for student visa (for English course), it is automatically DENIED.

Hi and welcome to the site

I would suggest plenty of reading in this forum especially threads Primer to working in the US and retrogression as currently everyone is affected I would concentrate on completing licensure with board of nursing to the state you want to live, although we do not recommend CA for initial licensure and there is a thread explaining reasons why called California for initial licensure. You will have more luck finding an employer having completed licensure and passed NCLEX but even then because of retrogression many employers are delaying taking on foreign nurses. I would also suggest trying the search facility and keywords for any other questions as many have already been asked and answered.

You cannot get a visa to work in the US as an LPN, and you also need the English skills to do that as well. Stick with passing the English exams, there is also a retrogression in place in the US so there are no visas currently available for you at this time.

There are actually some very good language programs in the BKK area, and would also recommend the www.scottsenglish.com program for you. They are located out of Australia and you can do it all on-line. There are also some excellent ex-pat instructors in Thailand that can help you prepare for the English exams.

You can also try seeing as many American movies as possible but without the Thai subtitles and that will also help you with your language skills.

Without passing the English exams, there is no way to work in the US or any other country. You are going to need to focus on that.

I have been looking up and applying for jobs thru the internet and sending in my CV and all...

THE BIG problem is they do not hire faculty without licensure but they do not tell what licenses to get... And it is hard to get to apply for a particular board since I don't know where I will get a job... What if I apply for CA board and get a job in some other state? then I'd either have to write another board or... dunnooooo...

If I have a job offer I can apply for THAT state board...

Why don't they have simpler ways to do this...

Is it ok if I go for the English exams first? Since it is usually valid for two years only?

You really need to decide on which state you want to live, apply to BON of that state and then take it from there.

Depending on the state English exam but if they do not require it you do require it for immigration. All states require pass in NCLEX which ATT will not be given until you meet requirements. NY have arrangements with CGFNS called CVS, most other states require CES with CGFNS whilst a small amount do their own assessment. I suggest you have a good read on this forum especially the sticky called Primer to working in the US

Hi there!

I came across this thread and can't help but noticing that due to the language barrier kuankao is willing to compromise his RN license. I would have to agree that the only way for you to learn English is to be educated by a teacher who is a native speaker of the language. I came across a website which is www.englishlink.com and saw that their program is good. You may want to check the website and learn English at home.
