is it good to take a break after a year of nursing school

Published

I started september 2013, but failed my 6th class and only have 3 class left. I felt very anxious on my last class and really felt overwhelm. I wanted to be a nurse, but felt I cant be a good nurse when I am not healthy, so I am thinking of taking a semester off to take care of my anxiety. Does anyone had tried taking a break and came back to nursing school successful? i am afraid I will forget all skills that I have learned so far if I take break.

Well, if it's really effecting on your mental health, you may consider to take a semester break and during the break, you can read for next semester. I'm sure you already have syllabus. So just read from syllabus and try to relax. Maybe go vocation. Feel better and good luck

Make sure you discuss with the school if you even can do that without reapplying to the nursing program. They only accept X amount of students and now they are losing money because you started and are taking time off. They may make you reapply to the program. Talk with the program director and get IN WRITING if you can get back in after a semester off.
