Good patho study aids?

Published

Hi all,

Classes for my RN/NP program start next week and one of them is phathophysiology. Apparently the textbook assigned for our course is horrible (according to what other students in the program have said about it). Of course, I already bought it and really don't feel like shelling out another $78 for a second textbook to use as a supplement. (And returning it would be a hassle because I bought it off of Amazon marketplace).

Are there any patho study aids (like the Incredibly Easy) series that you would recommend? I don't have any experience with any particular author or series so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Would like to know this also.....

The incredibly easy series is always good but I used the saunder's nursing survival guide b/c out textbook sucked as well and ended up with a A in the class..Here's the link:

Thanks! I will look into that one :) Was your textbook "Understanding Pathophysiology" by Heuther, by any chance? It seems to get such crappy reviews I can't imagine why the instructor uses it.:icon_roll

actually we used essentials in pathophysiology by porth, but I thought it was very dense, hard to read, and overly detailed. The supplements saved my life

Specializes in CTICU.

The McCance & Huether patho text is great, and also has a study guide with it.

This is the book we used as well. I am about to go look at the book you recommended on Amazon. A friend has also let me borrow the Patho Made Easy book......I need all the help I can get I just failed this class in the summer:cry:
