If you had difficulties with actually attending class in your previous college experience, you may not be well-suited to online learning. Not everyone is. I'm not -- and I've actually taught online classes. Online classes require a significant level of self-discipline & I am a terrible procrastinator. I need to have the 'push' of having to meet those classroom deadlines. I strongly urge you not to attempt to take any lab courses online - those are even more difficult because of the lack of physical interaction with a qualified instructor.
Is there a community college close by? That would be your best option. Very inexpensive, and classes will be transferable to any program.
I did what the previous posters recommended. I am an Excelsior grad who took all my classes except the nursing classes through my local community college. They had online options for many of the classes I needed. You may want to check with Excelsior to make sure they will transfer before signing up though.

I am a LPN of 3 years. I want to go back for my ASN RN. I was in college in 1999 for 1 year and did horrible (skipped most of my classes). So I need to get my GPA up to get into nursing school. What are some good reputable online colleges where I can take English comp1 and Intro to psychology, A & P, Intro to sociology? I am so confused on which online colleges are legit and are not over priced. I was accepted at a University 45 mins from me for those classes this spring semester however it's costing me 7000$ and I would prefer to do this online and cheaper. Please help I'm sick of looking on all this. Lol!
