We are very pleased with the Kozier Fundamentals book and have used this at our school of nursing (differing editions over the years) for a very long time. It is very thorough and relatively easy to understand.

The anatomy book our community college utilizes is Principles of Anatomy and Physiology (11th edition) by Gerard J. Tortora and Bryan H. Derrickson. I do not know the specifics of this textbook, but the instructors have used the Tortora anatomy book for many years (differing editions, of course) - so they must be satisfied with it.

Thanks a lot. It does help.

How does tortora compare with marieb ? I heard good reviews on marieb 'human anatomy and physiology'.

For Fundamentals of Nursing....my professor wrote our textbook, and he is a pretty intelligent guy...the book was laid out very nice, and easy to interpret. Lots of pictures as well.

We use Potter + Perry Fundamentals of Nursing. I don't like the way it's laid out- could have been done much better.

better.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0323025862/sr=1-1/qid=1138537929/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-2494680-4769441?%5Fencoding=UTF8

As for marieb - that is the book that I used. It is very indepth and while I found it too wordy during A+P...it's been a great edition to my stack of nursing books.

I read a chapter each from marieb and tortora books. I found tortora's book easier to read and better organized than marieb's book. So I decided on tortora's book.

I browsed through kozier's nursing book at the bookstore, it doesn't seem to be well organized. How does it compare to 'nursing fundamentals' by rick daniels as suggested by someone here ?

Which book is the best to prepare for NCLEX-RN ?
