Good NICUs in Phoenix area?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Well, it seems my husband is dead set on returning to the Phoenix area after about 15 years being back in SoCal. I've been working in a lvl III NICU here for 3 years now and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for good NICUs in the Phoenix area?

Thanks for any replies...

Renee

St. Joe's is my favorite. They see and do everything.

I'm partial to Good Sam since my daughter was born there.

St. Joe's has a great reputation here locally. Family-centered Nursery. 50 bed unit, cares for infants during 24-48 weeks of gestation. Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 2 in the NyICU and 1:3 in the NyICU intermediate nurseries.

St. Joseph's is in the process of becoming a national Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) training center. We offer a wide range of specialty care practices and therapies for neonates including high-frequency jet/oscillator ventilation, nitric oxide, surfactant replacement therapy, ECMO, neurological work ups and intervention, cardiac, and surgical and medical therapies.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me offline. I work for St. Joe's. 602.268.0940 (direct line).

Phoenix Children's has a very good reputation. Part of their NICU is on the Phoenix Cildren's campus and part is at Good Sam. Personally I did not like Banner Desert NICU but I was only there as a friend of a patient, not as a nurse.
