It all depends on where you are located. Not all online programs are accepted everywhere.

There are several online schools. Excelsior is accepted in Mass. but that doesn't mean it won't change in the future. See if ISU LVN-BSN is accepted in Mass. it might be as another option. Personally I prefer Excelsior as I know personally a few nurses from CA who went through it and are excellent nurses. But unfortunately CA doesn't accept it. I'm going through the program since I'm relocating to either Florida or Arizona and both accept it. So you habe Excelsior as an option. There are others out there but some of them you have to be a resident of that state. Hope this helps.

I've checked into Excelsior, my concern is how to do the clinical components. I'm afraid I won't be able to find my own perceptor. I've already completed and passed the 3 clinical semesters required for my RN, unfortunately I failed the last semester's lecture portion by .10 an can't graduate. My only option is to take the LPN exam in NH and then try and do an online LPN to RN. How are you doing the clinical component, how do you find excelsior? Please let me know about your experience.

watersamy, the Excelsior clinical exam is completed at the end of the nursing exams. It's the Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination, or CPNE. It's a rigorous and rather demanding 2.5 day exam with both lab simulations as well as actual patient care. You don't need to find a preceptor.

If you're interested in Excelsior, I suggest you visit their website (http://www.excelsior.edu) and download the school of nursing catalog. It contains information on all the nursing programs, including the ADN program. You might want to speak with an advisor, because you could potentially be accepted into the program based solely on having completed almost all of your RN program. Admissions information is here:

Watersamy you're very lucky that it's accepted in Mass. take advantage of it. Everyone on here that has been successful can't stress enough how much they have learned. I'm moving to Florida or Arizona and both states accept it so I'm waiting for my evaluation to see where I stand. If you feel that Excelsior isn't right for you then see if ISU LVN-BSN is accepted by your state.
