It seems like every cohort/application cycle has one of these pages. I wanted to start a new thread for the Spring 2023 cycle so we can keep each other updated during the application period and ask questions. Best wishes to everyone applying!
Hi y'all! Has anyone done their physical through the GWC health center? Im wondering if you can really take care of everything through them? Has anyone been asked to get a 4th covid shot? My last booster was December of last year so a total of 3 shots, seems like maybe I'll need another. I got accepted of the alternates list this past week so feeling a bit overwhelmed with the pre-enroll requirements ?

What day did you get accepted?

The GWC health center provide all the services required for the physical exam, however they charge you money for each service. The total cost for the whole thing is around $230 I think. But if you get some of the vaccines and blood titer tests outside, they may be covered by your health insurance. I have medi-cal so a lot of my blood tests and vaccines are covered. I just came to GWC student health to get whatever services I can't find outside.

You can take care of everything with the exception of certain Vaccinations (they only do Flu for $16 and TDAP for $40). But like @RambutanGang said, you are better off getting it done through your insurance/primary care provider. If you want to know the costs from GWC Health Center, here ya go:

Clinical sites did not require 4th CoVid Booster this semester, but that could change for next. Nursing Admin will let us know as soon as they can. I went ahead and got mine, but that was due to wanting it rather than requirement.
Congrats on getting on getting accepted!

If youre in a pinch you can get a same day appointment for the covid booster at walgreens for free. Titers are expensive, id try to go through your insurance/mediCAL for that though.
The big PIA is the TB test since you have to go 4 times within a timeframe and you cant get the covid booster before it because it messes with the results.
Thanks for the advice on the student health center everyone! I already got a titer a few months back so figured it would be easier to get a quick appointment at the health center then my kaiser insurance.
Another question! When you purchase the complio packages, does that automatically initiate the background check or do you have to separately order one?
