Hey everyone,
I'm starting this thread so we can support each other through the next round of applications. It's my 3rd time applying and I now have 81 points. I think it could go either way for me at GWC, but I do feel like I'm getting in somewhere no matter what. Good luck!

According to the Pre-enrollment email, we will be told later the date of orientation. :
"Additional information related to the Mandatory Orientation Session and other Program-required Materials will be forthcoming (I.e., Uniform and Lab Coat, ATI, Textbook/Lippincott Bundle, Stethoscope, etc.)"
Sorry you haven't gotten the confirm email yet, hopefully you will get it soon. I'm not on facebook, but please form one if that makes things easier. The only platform I'm on is Discord because I'm bit of social media 'luddite.' Which makes me an unfair gauge on what social media platform should be used. ?

Hi! Congratulations to those who got accepted! I'm an alternate and I got my confirmation email this morning! I started my checklist right away so I wouldn't lose any time on going through background checks, drug screening. My only concern is getting an appointment through my physician. I just did a physical right before I got my letter and getting an appointment for that took a while.

I also think this is a great idea. Having a group would be wonderful because we can message each other directly. Although I don't have social media ?

Congratulations!! ?
Don't know how your insurance works or if you want to stick with your personal doctor, but all you need is a Nurse practitioner or a physician to sign off. I called my doctor's office and she had no openings until January. But a NP in her office was available and my insurance allows me to do that since it is for that office and not just my physician in particular. Double check with your insurance and your doctor's office and hopefully that opens some windows for you. If not, get an appointment and if it is past the deadline or close to it, reach out to GWC Nursing Admin and see if they are able to work with you. According to the Email:
"If you have any issues meeting these requirements due to unforeseen circumstances, notify me immediately so I can assist you accordingly. Pay close attention to deadlines. Failure to meet requirements by the specific dates can result in being dropped from the program. We understand it might be difficult to get an appointment with you physician to complete these requirements so we recommend you start immediately."

I can't setup up a facebook Page, because I don't even have a FB account. That said if someone else want to set one up, please do so.

Hi!! Congratulations on getting in! I’m so happy for you ? if you don't mind me asking what alternate number you are? I’m number 20 and I’m so nervous I won’t get accepted. I’m just curious what number they’re on as far as accepting alternates

For the EMT class I took in January at OCC we had to get a physical and the professor told those who werent able to get the physical through our own doc or didn't have insurance that we could do it at the Health Services center on campus. If you are struggling you may see if GWC or OCC has openings for you to get your physical done on one of the campuses. You can also reach out to AB and see if they have any guidance.

Hello! I was #1 on the alternate list. This was my 2nd time applying to GWC. But this is not the first school that I have applied to in the last couple of years. I know its nerve-wracking to wait, but you got this. You will get in soon!

Ahh thank you so much for this info!! So helpful!!
Hello! I'm so glad I found this thread. I cannot wait to see all of you guys in Spring 2022.
For the physical check, you can make an appointment at GWC clinic by calling the number on the flyer. I got an appointment on the day I called, so they should be flexible with the schedule!
