Hi All,

I am a new nuraing student. I need a diagnosis for cephalopelvic disorder. I have the psycho-social ones because I understand that process. However the "ineffective tissue perfusion r/t disproportioante pelvis" is difficult to understand. I know that fetal oxygen is cut off during the squeeze of the pelvis being too small but I can t put it down on paper. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Bambi 1123

cpd usually results in c-section. it is a primary risk to the baby. the actual problem would be ineffective tissue perfusion, fetal r/t impaired blood flow due to fetal head being larger than maternal pelvis aeb [evidence of the baby's deoxygenation].

another way to diagnose:

diagnosis for the mother:

  • risk for maternal injury r/t mechanical obstruction

diagnosis for the baby:

  • risk for fetal injury r/t fetal head larger than maternal pelvis and tissue hypoxia

Hi daytonite,

Thank you so much for your help. I did the careplan presentation today in class. Your diagnosis was awesome!

I am just starting to get use to this careplan thing. The diagnosis really makes sense. It gave me certainty, when presenting my case, because of your help. thank you, again, I truly appreciate help and time.
