going for CNA

this is my first time asking some advice okay here goes....... okay i have been a homemaker and companion for 5 years always wanted to go the next step and iam going to feb22 i cant wait but i do have a learning disabilty delayed learning iam a slow learn.my math skills can do basic + = and a little x i have a toutor helping me with that my reading is okay obviosuly i work with eldely clients and i have to be able to read in the stores for them but i just need some opinionsll think i dont could pass the clincal part i think i got the written exam down i have been taking alot of the practice ones and do good cause like i said i know a bit but iam just geting a little scared about the hands on part i really want too do this just need some encourgement thanx !!!!

Good luck to you. I complete the lecture portion of my cna course this week. Then we have a month of lab followed by a month of clinica. Luckily there isn't much math involved aside from mL to oz conversions 1oz=30mL so you shouldn't have any trouble with that.

I think it's awesome that you chose to start with a CNA and then go on from there. I wish I had become a CNA three years ago when I went back to school instead of doing prereqs first.

I am about to start a CNA training, as well - on Feb. 3rd. If you have been working as a companion for the elderly, the hands-on stuff should be natural for you! Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!
