Please help me, I'm really confused about the next step to take. I just graduated from a BSN program in LA two weeks ago, and had to move to FL unexpectedly for family reasons a few days later. I already applied for my FL license and waiting to get my ATT. I've started looking at jobs online but don't know if I should apply for jobs as a graduate nurse or wait to get my RN license and then apply for RN jobs. I called BON and they said it will take a few weeks to become eligible as a graduate nurse. Do I have to wait until I am eligible to apply for these graduate nurse jobs? I am so anxious to find a job and start interviewing!!!

I think it would depend on the facility and what their practices are regarding GN's. I am going to start my new job as a GN with a limited permit. I have no experience as a nurse other than school (obviously!).
Why not start looking and calling around? Maybe get a few interviews if you can. Nurse Recruiters might well be able to answer your questions for you.
Good luck!

The way I've been doing it (in Ohio), is simply applying for RN jobs. Most interviews begin with a nurse recruiter, and they know the ropes as far as facility as well as state policy, regarding GN status. Don't stress, that's what they are there for!
