GN moving to Savannah

Published

Hey everyone,

I just passed the NCLEX and I now have my license. I am moving to Savannah to be with my husband who is stationed at Fort Stewart. I have been researching and calling the hospitals for any potential GN positions but I am not finding much info on the residency programs. I know that memorial doesn't open their applications until November and I really want to get back into the hospital sooner. Does any have any suggestions or comments? I also do not know anything here so any comments would be nice :lol2:

Hi, I live just south of Savannah and am a GN as well. Unfortunately, a lot of the residency programs are already filled or are in the last steps of the process. Memorial only had about 14 slots and hired all from within. St. Joe/Candler was not an option for me since I have an ADN and not a BSN (they aren't hiring any RNs w/out a BSN right now). Those are the Savannah hospitals, Hinesville (Ft. Stewart) has a hospital but they hired from within for their GN positions too (only had like 4). I heard the military hospital in Hinesville is hiring, but I didn't apply. Brunswick has a hospital (about an hr and 1/2 south of Sav) and they have 18 positions, but I think they have already chosen everyone they are interviewing. Jesup (about an hr from Hinesville) has a couple of positions still. Those are the places I have applied to... Had an interview in Jesup yesterday and one in Brunswick today!

Good luck!

Any luck for either of you? We recently moved to the Hinesville/Ft Stewart area and I am job hunting. I'm curious to where you ended up and how you are liking it.

Thanks!
