Hey everyone! Just wondering if there is anyone from Jacksonville, Florida that can give me some insight into any of the GN programs at the various hospitals located here. Besides nursing school, I have NO medical experience! I am scared to death to step out into the nursing field. I am looking for a very thorough GN program with a hospital that is dedicated to teaching and training their staff. Please respond if you have any experience or have been through a GN program at a Jacksonville hospital! Thanks!

I've heard Baptist has a good 6 month program that will expose you to all different areas of nursing. I think it requires a two-year commitment. Good luck.

Kat,
Pretty much all of the big hospitals here in Jax have a decent GN program.
Baptist, St Vincents, StLukes/Mayo, OPMC, Shands. Just be sure of what you want b/c like the pp said, most of them require a commitment. (which is why, as a new grad I did not accept any of their offers)
But maybe you are more decisive than me, in which case I reccommend checking them all out. I have noticed in the want-adds lately, that they are all hiring GN's right now for June.
