GMC vs Augusta Tech...HELP!

Published

I started Augusta Tech until I found out that if I graduate with them, I can only work in the state of Georgia. A classmate told me about Georgia Military College pre-nursing program and it seems as though it is a great option, but I'm just curious has anyone done it or is currently doing it. Or if anyone has had any problems after graduating from Augusta Tech. If I do GMC I will transfer to Georgia Regents because the thought of living in GA for the rest of my life is kind of frightening lol. (I wasn't born or raised here) Any and all advice or thoughts are welcomed and appreciated.

You can work in other states. The rumor is completely false. the NLNAC accreditation has nothing to do with working in other states. Even if you graduate from an accredited school or if Augusta tech does receive the accreditation you will still have to go through a process to get licensed in another state. You're not automatically license in all states because a program is accredited by the NLNAC. The accreditation is very nice to have and helps tremendously with other colleges accepting credits and looks wonderful on a resume but you are allowed and can work in other states if your school does not have it.

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me and you couldn't have picked better timing. I'm at the point where I have to make a choice and if it's not going to make much of a difference then I'd much rather stay where im at. Thanks again!
