Hey!! There is no thread about the updates at GCC, so I created one!!!Let's get a convo going... I have not heard back from GCC about the lottery. Has anyone received any updates?

Just found out there is another topic for GCC Fall 2017. I was one of the lucky few that were selected for their standard RN program. My top choice is PCC, but looking at GCC's NCLEX pass rate + clinical sites...it's difficult to pass it up. Here are the clinical sites which you can find in their student nurse handbook:

Children's Hospital of Los Angeles

ï‚· Glendale Adventist Medical Center

ï‚· Glendale Memorial Hospital

ï‚· Huntington Hospital

ï‚· Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Panorama City

ï‚· Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center

ï‚· Keck Hospital of USC

ï‚· Los Angeles County + USC (LAC+USC) Medical Center

ï‚· Providence St. Joseph Medical Center

ï‚· USC Verdugo Hills Hospital,

ï‚· Varied community settings.

They told me that they "misplaced" my application because when I called, they had no records of me ever applying to their program. And I thought it was weird how they never asked me to submit my teas scores, but now I know why. I'm honestly so furious with them.

How do we know if we were an alternate or not ? Was it in the letter where it said whether or not we wished to remain on their list?

No, I guess it's just a wait list and they do a random selection from that list for any open seat. If you replied that you are still interested in their program then you are entered into that pool for selection. I was just wondering if anyone was chosen from there.

Oh. Ok. I did reply that I wanted to remain on the list. And I haven't heard back from them since. I know the deadline is June 7.

I have not yet but either this thread or the other gcc adn fall 17 one or two alternates said they were picked up from the group
